Founded by Katerina, Picnique is known for creating intimate, design-led experiences that go beyond the food and setting – each one crafted with care, beauty, and a deep sense of connection.

“For me, it’s never just about the picnic itself,” says Katerina. “It’s about slowing down, celebrating love and connection, and creating moments you’ll carry with you long after the day has passed.”

The move into Auckland marks an exciting next chapter for the brand. “When I first started Picnique in Queenstown, my dream was simple – to create beautiful little moments for people to slow down, connect, and celebrate. Auckland felt like a natural next step. It’s such a vibrant city, full of amazing energy, culture, and hidden gems,” she says.

For now, Auckland offerings begin with intimate picnics for two – perfect for proposals, anniversaries, or simply celebrating a moment together. Group experiences will follow soon, but the focus remains on thoughtful, personal experiences that feel as special as they look.

In Queenstown, Picnique continues to offer its signature elopement and proposal experiences, set against dramatic alpine landscapes and tranquil lake views.

Across both regions, every detail – from the soft textiles and beautifully styled settings to the thoughtfully prepared food and optional touches like floral styling, a cabana, tea station, or photography session – is designed to make the experience seamless and unforgettable.

As Katerina puts it, “There’s something magical about taking a moment just for yourself, or with someone you love.
