Well-known New Zealand ski retailer Gnomes has confirmed it is moving to Christchurch, marking a significant step in the company’s growth. The business announced the relocation this week, revealing plans for a new, much larger store at The Works in Islington at 400 Waterloo Road, Christchurch.
According to Gnomes, the move will allow the team to expand its services
Increase workshop capacity and create a purpose-built space designed specifically for ski retail, bootfitting (4 to 5 times bigger) and gear preparation. The new location offers more room, improved facilities and the ability to deliver a broader experience for customers.
The Christchurch store is expected to become a central hub for the brand, supporting both local customers and those travelling for fittings and gear ahead of the ski season. Gnomes says it is excited about the opportunities the move will bring and looks forward to sharing the journey with its community.
The company has signalled that more updates will follow as work progresses on the new site.
