Summer season 25/26 kicks off this weekend at Cardrona, with the mountain opening its doors on Saturday, 13 December. The team has released a fresh pre-season update, offering a first look at trail conditions – and everything is shaping up for a strong start to the summer.

Biking, carting, and sightseeing will all be running from opening day. The trail crew has been putting in the mahi over the past few weeks, grooming the dirt, tightening lines, and making final adjustments ahead of the first riders rolling through.

Cardrona’s popular Noodle Bar will also be open throughout the season, serving a refreshed summer menu designed for long days outdoors.

The summer season at Cardrona gives you plenty of ways to enjoy the mountain – whether you’re here to ride, roam, or simply soak in the alpine air. Take on Australasia’s only lift-accessed mountain carting trails, designed for pure downhill fun, or jump on your bike and explore New Zealand’s highest-altitude bike park, with lift-accessed terrain, flow lines, technical trails, and the iconic peak-to-pub ride.

If you’d rather slow things down, ride the gondola to the top of Mt Cardrona and wander through an incredible alpine environment with 360-degree views, walking tracks, and the Cardrona Swing.
