SailGP Returns to Auckland in 2026

Auckland is preparing to host SailGP once again, with the city set to become the centre of the championship when the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix | Auckland returns in February 2026. Building on the success of last year’s debut event, the Race Stadium at Wynyard Point will expand for this season, with grandstand capacity increasing by 30 percent to accommodate growing demand.

The enlarged venue is expected to create an even more intense atmosphere, bringing spectators closer to the action as high-speed racing unfolds across the Waitematā Harbour. With Auckland firmly established as one of SailGP’s standout locations, the 2026 event promises bigger crowds, louder support and the same close-to-shore racing that has made the championship a fan favourite.
