Storms cut racing short as Emirates GBR claim victory

SEPTEMBER 13, 2025, SAINT-TROPEZ, FRANCE – Day two of the ROCKWOOL France Sail Grand Prix was cancelled due to forecast thunderstorms, forcing organisers to call off racing on the final day in Saint-Tropez. Although disappointing, the correct decision for the safety of the teams and crew.

With results standing after day one, Emirates GB SailGP Team were awarded the event win, securing a full 10 season points. Black Foils (New Zealand) finished second with 9 points, while Los Gallos Spain SailGP Team rounded out the podium in third with 8 points.

Emirates GBR driver Dylan Fletcher said: “We’re absolutely stoked to have finished top after the first day, it was a great day of racing on the 18 meter wings. We’re just looking forward to Geneva now. It’s disappointing not to be out there today, but Geneva is going to be fantastic.”

Championship Standings After Saint-Tropez

With only two events remaining before the winner-takes-all Grand Final in Abu Dhabi, the overall leaderboard has shifted:

  • 1st – Black Foils NZ (70 points)
  • 2nd – Emirates GBR (68 points)
  • 3rd – Bonds Flying Roos AUS (67 points)
  • 4th – Los Gallos ESP (64 points)
  • 5th – France (52 points)
  • 6th – NorthStar CA (45 points)

The action now shifts to Switzerland

SailGP makes its long-awaited debut on Lake Geneva next weekend. The Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix kicks off on Saturday, September 20, 2025, with two days of racing, as the Switzerland SailGP Team competes on home waters for the very first time.
