About Bike Glendhu

Born to Share. Born to Ride

Nestled between WānakaGlendhu Bay, and the majestic backdrop of Mount Aspiring National Park, Bike Glendhu was created for two-wheeled explorers who love nature and community in equal measure.

The park’s 40 km of trails weave through wetlands, kanuka scrub, and rivers — carefully designed alongside ecologists to protect and enhance the land. Its solar-powered Base 334 hub provides an off-the-grid space to refuel, relax, and swap stories after a ride.

Founded by locals John McRae and John Wilson, Bike Glendhu began as a vision to build Wānaka’s first purpose-built mountain bike park – one that gives back more than it takes. Today, it’s home to world-class trails, a café and beer garden, rentals, and a strong community that embodies its mission:

“To better well-being and the environment through sharing our passion and our playground.”

With every pedal stroke, you’re helping plant native trees, protect the landscape, and keep this unique playground thriving for future generations.

Ride it. Share it. Love it. See you on the trails.
