Mt Cheeseman has some exciting news for snow lovers – the mountain will be OPEN this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (12–14 September) for a special “pop-up” long weekend. Thanks to fresh snowfall, including a top-up today, and the hard work of the Cheeseman crew, skiers and riders will get a chance to enjoy the slopes this season.
Mt Cheeseman opening: What you need to know
Variable Weather: Conditions may change quickly. Be sure to check the daily mountain report for the latest updates on weather, snow, and road access before heading up.
Scaled-Back Services: Operations will be limited. The Café will be open with a very small selection of stock, so you’re welcome to bring your own food to enjoy in the Daylodge. The rental department will have gear available, but there will be no lessons this weekend.
Thin Coverage: Snow is still light across the mountain, so please ski and ride with caution. Watch for unmarked hazards both on and off-trail. The upper and mid-mountain areas are the best spots to explore, while a short walk back to base may be required depending on snow conditions lower down.
Patience & Kindness: With fewer staff and resources on hand, things may take a little longer than usual. The team asks for your patience and good vibes as they focus on getting everyone out skiing and riding.
