Treble Cone and Coronet Peak saw a fleeting dose of good snow over the weekend, while Mt Hutt was forced to close on Sunday. More snow is forecast early this week, before a warmer, wetter front moves in on Thursday. Friday promises a narrow window of calm before a Tasman storm sweeps across the country.
According to current closing dates for the 2025 NZ ski season: Cardrona will close on October 5, with The Remarkables and Mt Hutt following on October 12. Mt Ruapehu will keep running into late October, though conditions at Mt Ruapehu may be the most volatile for the upcoming week.
