Volunteer-led season brings grassroots skiing back to the slopes of Mt Ruapehu
The Tukino 2025 Season Pass sale has officially launched, and it’s bringing back more than just good snow vibes. For a limited time, adult season passes are just $150, with youth passes going for $100. Yes, you read that right. That’s 1990s pricing in 2025.
Passes are open to both members and non-members, and available now at: thier website
Tukino is going fully volunteer-run for the upcoming season
That means opening days will depend entirely on securing enough qualified and experienced volunteers to safely operate the field. Mid-week skiing will be rare, but weekends – especially bluebird ones, are still very much on the cards.
Back to grassroots
This shift isn’t just a response to tough times, it’s also a chance to reimagine what a community ski field can be. Tukino’s new model opens the door for anyone with the right attitude to get involved, regardless of experience level. Whether you can help for a day or commit to the season, you’re invited to join the Tukino crew and be part of something special.
“We’re aiming to bring Tukino back to its roots—community-led, affordable, and unforgettable.”
